The Preserve is an outstanding design with exceptional service and a desire to make your day the best day of golf ever; unfortunately it is a little bit overpriced for the MS Gulf Coast area, in my opinion, but an exceptional experience.

The Preserve Golf Club has been selected by Golf Digest as one of 's Best New Courses of 2007 in the "Best New Public $75 and Over" category. The new rankings appear in the January 2008 issue of Golf Digest, on newsstands now. Great Course near the casinos in Biloxi. The course is very scenic and has NO development on it, just nature and golf. Unfortunately it was very wet so the course wasnt in the best condition that day. But overall I liked this course and will play it again. Also the service was excellent. The Preserve at this time is still a relatively new course. The greens are built to USGA spec and are well compacted. All the greens are extremely consistent in their firmness and roll. They are not rock hard, but hard as a drum might be a good description. They are cut tight and at a guess a 10/11 on the stimp meter. They accept high, long iron shots well with minimal roll. With shorter iron shots, you need to be wary to hit down on the ball, for back spin, as well as playing to a spot forward of the pin location otherwise your ball might roll off the green. Bump and runs from the fringes and short range (less then 40 yards) are possible on some of the holes and tend towards good results. Chips if not lofted and soft will run forever. Special attention needs to be made to hit on a flat or only slightly sloped location, with the speed of the greens, a sideways kick on landing could destroy your chance at an up and down.
